Sungshin Women’s University Hosts “Global Exchange Night” to Foster Campus-Wide International Exchange
International Students from 22 Countries Participate, Promoting Global Exchange on Campus
Fostering Friendship Through a Goblin-Themed Cultural Experience Program

Sungshin Women’s University (Acting President Wonho Lee) hosted “Global Exchange Night” on March 26 at its Soojung Campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, with the aim of promoting interaction and exchange between international students and domestic students.
A total of 84 participants joined the event, including 62 international students from 22 countries, as well as 22 members of Sungshin Global Friends—student volunteers who support international students through the university’s Buddy, Tutoring, and Major Mentoring programs—along with other enrolled students.

As one of the university’s large-scale international student engagement programs, “Global Exchange Night” is designed to help international students communicate and build relationships directly with Korean students, while also supporting their smooth adjustment to campus life in Korea.
This year’s program featured a unique interactive experience inspired by the Korean traditional folklore character “Dokkaebi” (Goblin). By combining traditional Korean games with modern recreational activities, the event offered participants an opportunity to experience Korean culture while fostering friendship and a sense of community.
Hyungmin Lee, Dean of the Office of International Affairs and External Relations at Sungshin Women’s University, stated,
“As the number of international students studying at Sungshin Women’s University continues to grow, one of our key priorities is to create opportunities for meaningful interaction with domestic students on campus. We will continue to operate a variety of programs that support international students’ successful settlement and expand opportunities for practical and authentic exchange.”
Meanwhile, Sungshin Women’s University's Office of International Affairs and Services continues to support international students’ academic and daily life adaptation in Korea through its Global Friends Program, which includes:
-Buddy, where Korean students assist international students with campus life
-Tutoring, focused on language exchange
-Major Mentoring, which helps international students adjust to their academic fields of study
