Sungshin Women’s University Strengthens Recruitment Network in Myanmar through Strategic Partnerships

Sungshin Women’s University successfully conducted a strategic recruitment mission to Yangon, Myanmar, from December 18 to December 23, 2025. The mission was designed to expand the university’s international student base and formalize cooperation with key local partners to streamline the recruitment of both language and degree-seeking students.

The delegation, led by the Dean of the Office of International and External Affairs, engaged in a series of institutional meetings and large-scale admissions seminars.

Admissions Seminars and Intensive Consultations 

The university hosted five separate admissions seminars at major venues, including the Novotel Yangon, attracting a total of approximately 380 prospective students. These sessions provided detailed information on the university’s Korean language programs (D-4), undergraduate degree tracks (D-2), and various student support services .

Formalization of Academic Cooperation 

During the visit, Sungshin Women’s University signed multiple Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) with local partner institutions. These agreements establish a framework for ongoing collaboration in student recruitment, marketing strategies, and the pre-screening of qualified candidates .

Scholarship Awards for Talented Students 

To encourage high-achieving Myanmar students, the university held scholarship raffles during the seminars, awarding full and partial tuition waivers for the Korean Language Center. This initiative was met with significant enthusiasm, highlighting the growing interest in Korean higher education within the region.

Strategic Institutional Networking 

The delegation met with various partner institutions to discuss long-term recruitment plans, including the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) program and specialized English-track training courses . These discussions focused on identifying market trends and tailoring recruitment strategies to meet the specific needs of Myanmar students .
