Sungshin Women’s University Hosts Recruitment Fairs Across Latin America to Strengthen Global Presence

Sungshin Women’s University successfully completed a strategic overseas mission to Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, and Colombia from November 14 to November 25, 2025. The mission aimed to promote Korean higher education and build a robust recruitment network in the Latin American market.
The delegation, led by the Dean of the Office of International and External Affairs participated in major academic fairs and held meetings in Mexico City, Quito, Lima, and Bogotá. The visit was made even more meaningful by the participation of Johanna Sanchez, an Ecuadorian student currently majoring in K-Beauty and Fashion Design at Sungshin Women's University, who joined the delegation to share her authentic experiences with prospective students in her home region.

Participation in Major Study Abroad Fairs
Sungshin Women's University participated in fairs across four countries, attracting approximately 860 visitors for consultations. Notable attendance was seen at the 2025 Korea Study Abroad Fair in Mexico, which drew over 400 students. In Ecuador and Peru, the university engaged with over 200 students in each country through the ISN Fairs.

Admissions Seminars and School Visits
Specific admissions seminars were held in Mexico and Ecuador to promote undergraduate and language programs. In Ecuador, the university visited local high schools, including Victorian Christian Academy and El Sauce School, to present the university’s unique curriculum and student support programs to over 80 prospective students.

Diplomatic and Institutional Networking
The mission focused on strengthening ties with local authorities and academic institutions. Key meetings included discussions with the Korean Embassies in Mexico, Ecuador, and Colombia regarding the Global Korea Scholarship (GKS) and student exchange expansion. Notably, the university discussed an academic exchange agreement with the Central University of Ecuador and established a partnership for a GKS exchange student quota starting in Fall 2026.

Through this mission, Sungshin Women’s University has already secured prospective candidates for its K-Beauty track and Korean Language Center for the Spring 2026 semester. The university plans to maintain this momentum by hosting follow-up online information sessions to further expand its academic network in Latin America.
