Sungshin Women’s University Hosts International Exchange Night, Bringing Korean and International Students Together

Sungshin Women’s University (President Sungkeun Yi) hosted the “2026 International Exchange Night” on September 30 at its Soojung Campus in Seongbuk-gu, Seoul, bringing together Korean and international students for an evening of cultural exchange and interaction.
The International Exchange Night is designed to provide students with opportunities to naturally connect and build friendships through cultural experiences and team-based activities. This year’s event, themed “1988, A Night at Sungshin Women’s University,” invited participants to step back in time and experience aspects of Korean everyday life and popular culture from the 1980s through the early 2000s.
A total of 80 Korean and international students participated in the event. Before the main program, the Office of International Affairs and Services introduced various international exchange programs available on campus and shared opportunities for Korean and international students to participate in activities together.

Throughout the evening, students took part in team missions, games inspired by Korean culture and everyday life of the era, photo activities, and other interactive programs. Working together in mixed teams encouraged students to communicate and collaborate beyond differences in language and nationality, while offering international students an engaging way to experience Korean culture.

The event also gave Korean students an opportunity to share aspects of their own culture while learning about the diverse backgrounds of their international peers. Through these shared experiences, participants were able to form new connections and strengthen intercultural understanding within the university community.

Currently, Sungshin Women’s University is home to 2,060 international students from 42 countries. The university has been recognized for 12 consecutive years as a top-tier accredited institution under the International Education Quality Assurance System (IEQAS) administered by the Korean Ministry of Education.
Sungshin Women’s University continues to offer a variety of programs that promote interaction between Korean and international students. Through its Global Friends programs, including the Buddy Program, language-focused Tutoring Program, and Major Mentoring Program, the university supports international students in adjusting to academic and campus life in Korea while creating more opportunities for meaningful intercultural exchange.
