How about Experiencing a Music Festival This Summer?

As summer approaches, the season for music festivals—burning with a heat as intense as the sun itself—has finally arrived. Here are three representative Korean festivals that will help you blow away the sweltering heat.

First, Beautiful Mint Life (BML) is best known for its signature "picnic" vibe, where you can spread out a relax. With various booths and food trucks available, you can enjoy a meal on the grass with friends. There are three different stages, allowing you to move around freely to catch the artists you want to see. This year, it takes place on May 30th and 31st, featuring a lineup that includes N.Flying, AKMU, and Carthegarden.

If you consider yourself a true music enthusiast, the Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival is the best. Pentaport’s greatest strength is the dynamic energy shared with a wide range of indie artists. In the vast outdoor venue, the sight of fans "slamming" to the beat and waving flags with diverse messages has become the festival's trademark way of having fun. This year, the festival runs from July 31st to August 2nd, featuring artists perfectly suited for a rock festival, such as Silica Gel, Bongjeingan, and Shin-Inryu.

Finally, there is Hiphopplaya Festival, one of the most prestigious hip-hop events where the biggest names in the scene gather. This year, thanks to Show Me the Money, which had been in decline, regained popularity and became a hit. Held on May 2nd, the event featured top-tier rappers such as Bobby, Nowimyoung, and Lee Young-ji, delivering an unforgettable experience for fans.

You might wonder why head outside in this hot weather? It’s because summer is the season that forces us to focus on the "here and now." Having attended BML in both 2023 and 2024, I can say that 2024 was especially memorable because I was with my friends. The performances by Touched, owalloil, and Yudabin Band were absolute highlights. Why not head out to a festival this summer and create unforgettable memories with your own friends?

여름과 함께 여름만큼 뜨거운 열기의 음악 페스티벌 시즌이 다가왔습니다. 여름의 무더위를 날려줄 수 있는 국내 대표 페스티벌 3곳을 소개하겠다.

 첫번째로 뷰민라는 돗자리를 펴고 즐길 수 있는 스테이지가 가장 큰 특징이다. 또한 다양한 부스들과 푸드트럭 준비되어 있어 친구들과 잔디위에 앉아 음식을 먹으며 피크닉같은 분위기도 즐길 수 있다. 또한 세개의 스테이지가 있어 보고싶은 가수를 무대를 옮겨다니며 볼 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 올해는 5월 30일과 31일에 개최되며 엔플라잉, 악동뮤지션, 카더가든 등이 출연한다. 

만약 '내가 음악 좀 즐긴다' 라고 생각하신다면 인천 펜타포트 락 페스티벌을 추천합니다. 펜타포트는 다양한 인디아티스트를 역동적으로 즐길 수 있다는 것이 장점이다. 넓은 부지에서 아티스트의 노래를 바탕으로 관객들의 슬램과 다양한 문구의 깃발은 펜타포트의 대표적 즐김방식이다. 올해 펜타포트는 7월31일부터 8월2일까지 진행되며 실리카겔, 봉제인간과 신인류 등 락페스티벌에 최적화된 아티스트들을 만날 수 있다. 

마지막으로 힙합플레이야이다. 가장 유명한 힙합 페스티벌 중 하나이며 가장 유명한 래퍼들이 모이는 페스티벌입니다. 올해 쇼미더머니로 인해 죽어있던 힙합이 다시 인기를 타면서 흥행하였다. 올해는 5월 2일에 개최되었으며 바비, 나우아임영, 이영지 등 탑급 래퍼들이 출연했다.

왜 하필 이 더운 여름에 밖으로 나가야 하는 것일까? 여름은 '지금 이 순간'에 가장 집중하게 만드는 계절이기 때문이다. 개인적으로 저는 2023년, 2024년 뷰민라에 갔었는데 둘다 재미있었지만 친구들과 함께 했던 2024년의 추억이 더 깊게 남았다. 당시에는 터치드와 유다빈밴드, 오월오일의 무대가 가장 재미있었다. 이번 여름 페스티벌에 참가하여 친구들과 잊을 수 없는 추억을 남겨보는건 어떨까?
