[SUNGSHIN] 1st Global Sungshin Sports Day

 Our university has successfully held the '2024 Spring Semester Sungshin Global Sports Day’ on May 19th Sunday at Soojung Campus.

 

 Sungshin Global Sports Day, which was held for the first time in our university, was organized by the International Affairs and Services Team and International Students Association(SISA), with support by International Education Institute and Graduate Academic Team. The main focus of the event was to provide a chance for international students to create unity network and to strengthen their bond with Sungshin.

 The participants of the Sports Day included all Sungshin international students such as undergraduate and graduate degree students, GKS government scholarship students, language course students, and exchange students. Eventually, 102 students from 13 countries, including Germany, Russia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Brazil, Austria, China, Kazakhstan, Cambodia, Poland, France, and the Philippines.

 President SeongKeun Yi delivered an encouragement speech, stating, “I hope all students will enjoy and have a healthy university life, and keep treasure of the connection with Sungshin.”

 

 Furthermore, International Education Institute professors and faculty members in charge of international students’ management were also present cheering for the students creating a place of harmony.

 During the Sports Day, participants were divided into 8 teams and competed in 6 different games, including Ad-balloon, Tug-of-war, Flipping Boards, Queen Dodgeball, and Mission Relay.

 The event continued with a performance by the Sungshin Women's University Cheerleading Team (Flare) and a talent show by the international students who participated.

 Meanwhile, our university currently has 830 international students from 34 countries, with the growing number of international students, the International Affairs and Services Team is providing a variety of programs to help new students adjust to the university.

 

 From tutoring and mentoring to providing visa education for settling and working in Korea in cooperation with the Seoul Global Center, to athletic competitions and volunteer activities to foster friendship among students, we provide systematic support for international students in various areas such as academics, life, and career.
